Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; Dade Paper & Bag Company was founded in 1939 by Irving Genet and his father Harry Genet in Miami, Florida. Miami was a growing city in that era with many new businesses opening including hotels, restaurants and retail operations. Irving and Harry believed that a paper and packaging supply business would hold solid opportunities for a new enterprise. Irving was the company’s first salesperson, calling on businesses up and down Miami Avenue in the new bustling downtown area. His first sale was one case of toilet tissue. Hard work and a commitment to excellent customer service provided Dade Paper & Bag, now DadePaper, the platform to develop a good base of business in South Florida. In the 1970s Irving’s son and current President, Lenny Genet, joined the business. Lenny brought many new ideas to the table including plans to improve operations, employ technology and expand into new geographical areas. Lenny also possessed his father’s talents as a salesperson with a commitment to long-term customer, associate and supplier relationships. In 1980, DadePaper opened a new branch location in Orlando, Florida. The Orlando area was growing with the building of theme parks, resorts and restaurants and was an excellent new market for the company. Growth continued throughout the decade and DadePaper was becoming one of the largest distributors in Florida. Additional expansion took place in the 1990s with the opening of a branch in Puerto Rico in 1995 and Jacksonville in 1998. At this point, DadePaper was able to service customers from the Caribbean all the way to Coastal Georgia. 2000 marked the opening of the Atlanta branch with coverage into Tennessee and the Carolinas. In 2004, the Gulf States branch was established located near Mobile, Alabama. Expansion into the Mid-Atlantic region was accomplished by acquiring a new branch location in Capitol Heights, MD in 2006. Most recently, The Greensboro, NC branch opened in 2008. Today, over 900 Dad ePaper associates service the entire Eastern United States, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean from 8 distribution facilities and 12 sales offices. Although the company has grown by leaps and bounds in the past 70 years, the core values of the founders still hold true. DadePaper will provide customers with the best products and service possible, continuously striving to exceed expectations.
